center section are the letters A ST in
khaki, and the patch is made with an
outer edge of khaki. What patch is
this? The
orange
suggests
Signal
Corps. The Army Almanac states that
"personnel who operate signal equip.
ment are known as signal troops in the
Signal Corps"
perhaps the A S T
means
Army
Signal Troops,
but
possibly
on
an special assignment
thus the special patch. During World
War Il activities now under Intelligence
and Security
were
then
under the
Signal Corps. It may be this patch
might have some connection with this
