The zig-zag line is believed to be a manufacturer's
embroidery error, however, the following story was
told to Mark Bando. He reports that a division HQ
member told him that a variety like this was issued
to him after VE Day and was only given to Nor-
mandy survivors. The blue area between the tab
and shield represents the English Channel and the
sig-zag lines represent the bridges above Carentan-
tan.
